help! cam bearing stud broke 700 1989

Today, as I was re-torquing the cam bearing nuts to spec, when I reached it, one of the bolts broke! after cussing at it for an hour, I decided that I need to figure out how you guys would go at this problem... do you guys know a how to replace that sucker??? and why did it break so easy?!?!?
