exhaust manifold removal

I am in the process of pulling the cylinder head on my 1988 740 turbo. I believe that I have now removed all of the nuts holding the exhaust manifold to the head (unless there are hidden nuts underneath). I can move it somewhat but I am concerned that if I try to force it all the way off the studs, I will break something. Do I need to disconnect the turbo from the downpipe first or do anything else? I would prefer not to remove any more parts than necessary.
