I just had my a/c checked at my local indie volvo shop. Everything was fine, but as I was picking the car up he said he noticed that the a/c is only blowing out the defrosters. The " " needs replacing at a cost of around $500, just for the part. Needless to say, I said I would wait on that one! This part apparently controls the a/c or heated air towards the cab, feet or windshield, by the control knobs. Has anyone ever heard about this problem and is this a fix that someone with medium mechanical skills (me) can perform? What is the name of this part and can one be purchased at a salvage yard or after market place? Thanks in advance! My car has 155K.
