Brake Experts Please .................. MicroBubbles forming in MC. 200 1990

Start of story --- changed front calipers and accidentally drained Master Cylinder. Approximately 1 week in passing. Filled MC with fresh DOT 4 and bled system with Eezybleed. Brake Pedal very soft. Figure MC is shot from being dry, age, or ....

Tonight New (remanufactured) MC installed. Bench bled in vise and checked after installing onto booster in car. Only fluid passing through loop-bac hoses, no air. Hooked up to brake lines, and more DOT 4 with Eezybleed. Brake pedal soft again. New MC bad? No. Removed Brake lines and installed plugs in MC outlets and pedal very firm. Hooked up brake lines again and decided to forgoe Eezybleed for traditional two man pump and release. Followed Bentley order 2X around. Pedal is firmer, but not fully right. Quite soft with engine running.

I peer into MC as my son actuates brake pedal and I notice a small stream of MicroBubbles drifting slowly to surface from the bottom of MC reservoir. Periodically a bubble the size of a small pin-head will float up. Where is the air entering the MC? Around the seals where the reservoir attaches? Did I not tighten the flare nut fittings tight enough? Did air enter the system when I hooked up the brake lines? I did crack each fitting and have my son step on the pedal to expell a little fluid after hooking up the lines to the MC. Upon inspection, I noticed that the front of the reservoir was up about 3/32" from the top of the seal, I attribute this to pressure bleeding. I have reseated the reservoir and it seems to be very tight. Do the reservoir seals need time to adjust to the reservoir tubes? I have tightened the flare nuts a bit more, but don't want to go too far. I don't want to bench bleed again for fear of letting in more air when hooking up brakelines.

Other notes: Brake Booster tested last evening with vaccuum pump as in Bentley. Held 10" for greater than 2 Minutes -- barely noticible drop in pressure. Distribution block at left front wheel well is not leaking. No other leaks --- no puddles on garage floor. Brake warning light is not on, at least not yet.

Going to get another quart of DOT 4 and try bleed sequence again tomorrow nigt.

Advice appreciated.
TIA
Dan W.
