Don't laugh (too hard) while you read this...
While trying to figure out how to remove a stuck rotor while dealing with a sore tennis elbow (which prevented me from gripping and pulling/twisting anything with my left hand) I came upon the following Rube Goldberg method:
Take about 3 feet of very small diameter rope and tie both ends together to make a circle. Squeeze the rope together in the middle, and drop the two resulting loops over each end of the rotor. Pull the rope straight up and insert a screwdriver through the section of rope which you have squeezed together. You can then lift up on both sides of the screwdriver with equal pressure, or grab one end of the screwdriver and light tap upwards on the opposite end of the screwdriver with a hammer to give it a little shock.
I was amazed at how easily the rotor lifted out of there after fooling around with it yesterday without success.
