Rear Window Defog Grid 1800

So here's the deal: All the lines in the rear window defog grid were
working fine last time I had occasion to use, or notice. But today,
driving to work in the rain (I don't mind her getting wet now and
then), I noticed that only about half of the lines were effectively
shedding the "fog" on the rear window. Working grid lines included
(counting from bottom to top) numbers 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10. Others
simply not working. Any ideas...and can they be resurrected?
