'86 245 temp guage 200 1986

My temp guage works only occasionally.

I recently saw (IPD catalog Code EG ~ July 03) that IPD sells a "Temperature Board By-Pass Kit P\N EG1363K" for $14.50 that by-passes the "temperature compensation board" and 'reverts the temp indicator back to the earlier trouble-free design'....."quoted from IPD."

It looks like a simple jumper wire and this part, EG1363K, comes with "installation instructions".

Anybody have info on this by-pass option to get the temp guage back to the "old trouble-free design". Can I just put in a simple jumper wire and remove the "temp compensation board" and save my $14.95 + freight?
