stalls on braking up 200 1989

1989 240DL automatic non-turbo.
Car run well, no rough idling, but stalls out in about 10 to 15 minuites if coming to a stop. Start and run fine afterwards. The problem is very intermittent.
The check engine light does not stay ON.
Any suggestion/s will be appreciated.
