Hi people, help me out here. Well my 1983 volvo 240 DL is still having problems. From the start, the engine would run but would suddenly stutter and shut off while driving or while sitting still or idling, it didn't matter. I eventually realized that I had the old wire harness so that was completely replaced. It still acted funny so I cleaned all the battery connections as well as the 25 amp blade fuse near the battery and those connections. It actually worked fairly well for about a week without any real problems, it would just hesitate on start but would calm down after 30 seconds or so. I figured I needed to change the fuel pump relays so I changed both of them on the passenger side with brand new bosch relays. Started it up and still strange. What often happens now is that the car will idle rough and do the same thing while in gear. It will act like I am tapping the accelerator every 2 seconds and just rev and go back and rev again. I am really lost. I think the fuel pump is okay. Am I losing spark somewhere? There are times when it will just cut out without any warning as well. Does this have to do with spark? If so, where do I need to check and how do I check it? Please help and give me pretty simple instructions because I am pretty new at this. Thanks so much, Doug
