aux cooling fan 700 1989

My 89 740 does have an aux cooling fan in front of the radiator. There are two wires running to it, one apparantly grey with a red stripe, one, apparantly the ground, black. On the right tank of the radiator there is a switch with what looks like two grey and red wires. I'm assuming, according to the f.a.q. that this switches the fan on in case of an overheat. Again, according to the f.a.q. there should be an aux fan relay, similiar to the radio suppression relay and co-located with it on the right shock tower. I only have one relay on the shock tower. Any ideas where the relay might be on my 89 740? I have no power to either of the wires on the switch on the radiator.
Thanks for all the advice in the past as I've been trying to restore this great brick!
