I have a '95 960 sedan which my dear wife surprised me by having the car washed. Unfortunately, she didn't turn the radio off and the power antennae was snapped at the base. The nylon line (?) that lowers and raises the mast seems to be functioning, but the mast won't lower all the way and droops helplessly over the rear quarter when the radio is turned on. Before any more damage occurs, is there an easy (i.e. cheap) way to repair this? I've dug into the trunk and removed the fabric from the interior wall so I have access to the moter and mast assembly.
Is it possible to cut this nylon line and replace the mast with a after market antennae which isn't powered?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
