Really like the subject says. If the revs drop below 1k.. just a tiny little bit below then the oil warning light comes on, flickers first then stays on. If u rev it to just over 1k revs it flicks off. Now I took down sump and took off the oil pump and removed a bit of gunk from the oil pickup! Put the pump in oil and tested with an electric drill, seemed to pick up fine and pump fine. Dismantled and was no obvious signs of wear or tear. I didn't check clearance between teeth because I only realised after reassembly that there needed too!!!Doh! I never changed oil seals either because thinking the gunk buildup was the problem I left it.
I am guessing it could be the o rings or worn teeth in the pump?
Open to suggestions before I begin the mamouth task again ! :-)
Many thanks
Luke
