AC won't shut off until car is shut off. 700 1985

After the numb skull mechanic replaced my evaporator-the AC stays on and doesn't respond to the levers on the dash-also air won't come out of the vents-just a little from the defrost. I wanted to know if something was wired wrong when everythings was put back and that I should investigate?
