960 valve ticking 900 1994

I'm helping my dad shop for a newer 960. I found a low-mileage 94 that looks pretty good, but when I cranked it up, I heard valve ticking for quite a while (maybe a minute). My 92 965 ticks for a few seconds on cold starts, but this went much longer. The test drive was great, and after that no ticking.

Any advice? Should we walk, or run away....
