I just bought our 3rd slightly used (!) Volvo - a 1991 740 Turbo wagon. Everything is OK except the water temp gauge is inoperative. I cleaned the contacts on the sending unit with no change. Does anyone know how to test the sending unit without replacing it? Or do I replace it and tear into the dash if nothing changes?
