Been thinking of trying Auto-Rx. My engine was neglected (by me) years ago and I need to clean it out. I have seen some positive posts here as well as elsewhere regarding Auto-Rx, and the money back guarantee seems to make it worthwhile to me. I have been corresponding with Frank, but am still having trouble with the answer I am getting regarding the fill ratio, and the potential for overfilling the crankcase. Frank says to put 2 ounces of Auto-RX per quart of oil, plus 2 ounces for the filter. That equates to 10 ounces total. My lack of knowledge as to the physics of Auto-Rx and its interaction with motor oil is what scares me. If I put an extra 10 ounces of a liquid in my crankcase, isn't that the same as filling a 4 quart system with almost 5 quarts? I remember reading a post by Don Foster explaining that overfilling the system causes the crank shaft to make the oil froth up with air bubbles like the milk in a cappuccino rendering it into something the oil pump can't pump, and ultimately killing your engine. Does the chemical makeup of the Auto-Rx preclude this from happening? The money back guarantee does me no good if I am out an engine and right now, the V8 conversion is not on the economic horizon.
As always, any and all inputs welcome.
TIA
David
