Hello all
I am still thinking in terms of mods to my future 1994 960 I-6 non-turbo and I was hoping you all may be able to pass along some advice in terms of what to do/what not to do.
It will be my everyday driver so I am looking for a sporty but not uncomfortable ride. I would like to do something to reduce the body roll some and just in general handle better. Right now the stock suspension offers a REALLY REALLY comfortable ride but the sport side of it is lacking (I know this is a luxery model not a sport model but it is my brothers car so I am going to be getting a pretty descent deal on the car) I do not have a ton of money to spend and am a little timid to do really radical stuff myself (such as cut springs or replace spring seats and such)
I am also going to upgrading the rims to a sportier look and ride so I would appreciate recomendations on rim and tire combinations that would be good for the type of driving described above. With descent longevity. As well as simply what rims look good/fit on this car.
And on a more informational side what aspects of the suspension and handling effect the car in terms of oversteer and understeer? How will the chnage from a soft suspension to a stiffer one alter the standard characteristic of the vehicle and vice versa from a stiffer suspension to a softer one
What is the best exhaust system to upgrade to? I know very little about the technical side of exhaust system and want to know what exhaust would be good on the 960 to add that little extra oomph and a bit of a nicer sound?
Due to not wanting to sacrifice my body to scientific research to fund this, I am thinking more in terms of a cat back but would still like to here all thoughts from down pipe back.
What issues make a difference when selecting an exhaust system is it bigger = better, I am tending to think that it is not quite that simple.
Thank you for your time
Neil
