Silly alternator question 200 1985

With my usual leisurely pace, I finally got around to finishing up the
wiring harness.

The big problem for me was the wiring to the alternator (rather they were
a bit too short).

After a bunch of swearing (I don't remember that putting the alternator in
was ever this difficult before) I got the alternator in, and the two
bottom bolts as well.

Unfortunately I noticed that the little metal sleeve got pushed out of one
of the bushings (one of the lower ones).

The damn thing already has more chunks of my hands than I bargained for so
at this point, so I'm in no big hurry to take the alternator out again and
put the sleeve in the bushing (they're IPD polyurethane units).

Am I going to regret this sooner rather than later?

My next car, if a Volvo, will surely not be a 240. What on Earth
possessed them to put the alternator so far away from the rest of the
charging system? And so close to bulky hot (turbo) or rather bulky
delicate (oil pressure sender) stuff.
