92 940 idles but won't drive 900 1992

hello,

my sons 92 940 died on him the other day, car runs at idle but has no power when driven.

the car has a regina system.

What we have done so far:

replaced air mass meter sensor and bushing
checked both fuel pump fuses, OK
changed plugs, cap, rotor, air filter, they needed it anyway.

still no joy.

is there other things i should be checking before i bring it down to the dealer?
