Relocated the Hornx2 200 1985

I removed the horn brackets and such to open the air flow while at the same time I removed the pusher fan. I fastened them to the Latch support craddle and they sound low and softer, if I leave loose they make lot's of sound. The more I tighten the less sounds? It appears that the horn assembly needs the flexable thin aluminum brackets? Please elaborate.. Thanks
