WIDE PIN STRIPE UNDER WINDOWS- I've removed and painted car. Should I replace Pin Stipe? If so, where to get? 200 1991

I've painted the car and it looks 100% better but I had to remove the cracking WIDE STRIPE under the windows and wish to know where to buy a replacement.
I called Volvo and they want USD160 PER SIDE!!

Is the area under the windows prone to rust? There are a couple of slight scratches on the driver's door (where that stripe used to be) that I guess were made after the car was painted (last week) and I noticed tiny rust stains eminating from these tiny scratches. Suffice to say, I'm going to take the car back to the body shop to have them repair/repaint that area but I just wondered if maybe there was a bit of surface rust under the tape that I didn't know about and the body shop neglected to tell me abount or properly fix.
