Hey folks. I've been working on my new-to-me Volvo 945T, and I've noticed a couple of things that have me concerned:
1) After shutting down the engine, if I remove the oil filler cap or oil dipstick, smoke comes out of those two areas. I did an engine flush and upgraded to Mobil 1 synthetic, and the problem persists. I'm also consuming about a quart of oil every 1000 miles, which is expensive with synth. Any ideas?
2) I'm replacing all the vacuum lines, and notice that they all are attached with little spring clips. Why is this if they're vacuum lines? My '92 240 didn't have these little clips.
3) In a fairly recent post, someone mentioned that an apparent rear-sagging problem isn't caused by the rears being too low, but the front being to high. Is this possible? Is it possible for a spring to elongateor rise like that? It doesn't seem right to me... I have this apparent problem, and am replacing the rears anyway with FCP Groton's heavy-duty ones. Should I replace the fronts too?
Thanks,
Chris
