Hello I had a question about the 740 turbo wagons. My friend wanted me to find him a wagon. I have a 240 and do not know a whole lot about the 700 series cars. I found an 86 740 intercooled turbo wagon with 158,xxx miles on it. The body and interior look great, no rust, tears etc, just the normal wear for a car of that age. It is being sold by a small used car dealer and they want $2500 for it which is almost exactly right on with the blue book value. It is a 4 speed manual with the electronic over drive. The car is gold in color and has tan interior. Since I don't know much about the 740's and even less about turbos I wanted to know if this would be a good car. Are they as reliable and as long lasting as the 200 series? I am sure the maintenance cost would be a little higher because of the turbo factor. I was hoping to get a general idea of this particular models problem areas, strengths, and what to look for, etc. Thanks for any information.
