This may be one problem or two separate problems. If this volvo is allowed to set for more than one day it has to be jumped to be started.
Today, after I changed the oil, it refused to start at all, just cranking away. I had a friend come over to jump it, but it would just crank to no avail. I could smell the gasoline as I flooded it. It would only start and stay running once ether was sprayed continuously into the air intake.
I've been reading about jumping the relay on the fuel pumps. How does one do that specifically. As in, Alligator clips and wire with the fuses pulled out or left in? Also I checked the 25 amp battery amp fuse and it looks silver and okay to me. I just acquired this car from someone who has the expression: "Oil, I'm supposed to change the oil more than once a year?"
Thank you as a soon to be graduating M.A. student without many funds any advice would be appreciated.
