Exhaust joint 900 1993

I purchased an exhaust kit - everything behind the converter - from Swedish Engineering (got a great deal!). There is a joint on my existing exhaust system, on the run of pipe that connects the converter to the first resonator, that appears to be just slipped together. Is this the case? When diassembling the old one, can this just be pulled apart?
