I'm still having hassles with my '78 245 (engine from '76 242)
I've fixed or replaced fuel lines, pumps, relay, etc...
It does fine at night in the cooler temps, but it really hates the heat.
I bought it with a seized motor and swapped it out with one whose history I don't know.
What it's doing is quitting on me after about 10 miles in 100 degree weather.
It shuts down for about an hour each time- It's getting spark, the fuel pump is pumping gas, but this remains sort of a mystery. (the stuff I swapped out needed it)
I should confess that I kind of guessed about where the vacuum lines go, and that I don't know how to adjust K-jet.
It almost acts like my choke is closing? Or maybe that my injectors are heat sensitive?
10 miles in 100 degree weather- every time. Vexing.
Btw- Invariably it never breaks down anywhere with shade, cafes, parks....
Thanks in advance
