262C 200 1981

Hi All,
I came across a 1981 262C Bertone 2 the junkyard the other day. It’s selling for $500. From my observation this is what I see. The owner states that the engine runs good and strong.... whatever that means. The odometer states 186K.

The car is:
-Light blue
- Surface rust on the rear quarter panels, front of hood and driver side lower rocker panel.
- The interior is black and in good shape from what I can tell. The glove box cover is missing and there is a small rip in the stitching on the drive seat (looks repairable).
- The chrome windshield molding is coming unglued.
- No dents and the body are pretty solid.

For $500 it seems like a good deal. I was unable to view the engine bay. Need to call the guy to really check it out. Not sure if this is something worth looking into. What do you guys/gals think? Also, tell me about the engine. I heard nightmares about the V6. I currently have a 1992 745 w/151K and love it. So I do know a little about the Volvo's.

Look forward to your replies,

--
Regards, Chris
