Oil leaking issues, need help. 200 1982

My girlfriend has an 82 240 two door sedan which is in great shape with a bit over 150k on the engine. The problem is that it has recently started leaking a lot of oil.

The car always had some minor oil leakage, but the leak go much worse when she accidentally overfilled the engine with motor oil. Even after the oil went back to the normal level (from leaking out) it still leaks with a pretty steady drip. About 6 months ago (before the leak) I changed out the clutch and replaced the rear main seal and the PCV valve assembly. The oil which is leaking apears to be coming from the bellhousing area. What probably failed and why?? If I take the tranny out again and replace the seal again are there any tips you can give me to ensure a leak proof job?? A particular sealant to use procedure??

Other oil related issues are the oil temp stopped showing on the oil temp gauge, and the oil pressure stopped showing on the 3 bar pressure guage. I noticed that the wires near the oil pressure sender and on the alternator were almost completely bare of insulation, where would I get a new sender and new wires?? Any diagnosis I can make on the existing senders??

Thank you

Mario m.
