Advantages with the 'Big Brake' conversion? 700

What are the advantages of upgrading to the 2 piston big brake rotor compared to the 2 piston regular girling setup? The pads are the same and the calipers are the same. It seems like the only change is the rotor, therefore I would imagine that the braking surface has not increased. So does the larger diameter rotor just help in cooling and minimize warping problems?

Oh, what is a reasonable street price for the caliper holding brackets?

Thanks in advance,

Tim.
