Driver’s seat rebuild 200

I have to do some serious work on repairing the driver’s seat of my 1989 240 DL Wagon. Now only does it mysteriously tilt to one side, but most of the springs from the bottom of the seat have dropped out, very uncomfortable. My inclination is to take the whole seat out so i can see what’s going on, but I have never done this before, and the idea of not being able to get it back in is not appealing. Plus my wife would have my head on a platter since she drives it most of the time.

Can someone walk me through the procedure for taking the seat out, and getting it back in, and reattaching the springs (wherever they go). Also, does anyone know why the seat is tilting to one side? Is something loose, or bent perhaps?

Thanks in advance for the help.

James
