740 to 240 swaps, motor and fuel tanks 200

Anyone put a 740 b230f in a 240? I have an extra motor from a wrecked 86 740. The distributor is on the rear of the cam instead of on the side of the block - will this motor slip into my new (new '88 240 with 150,000 on it) 240 if I take a notion to exchange it? The 740 had more zip than this 240.

The sending unit in the 240 is fried. It may be easier to just switch the tanks from the 740 if they are the same - anyone know?
