Motor oil in hose from AMM?! 200 1988

Long story short. While R&R bits and pieces for my AC compressor job, I had the AMM off. I noticed that the hose after the AMM (towards the manifold) had traces of what looked/smelled/felt like motor oil! This doesn't seem right to me.

Any thoughts on the subject?
