Just bought a new 240 Gl from the year 1983.
Everything seemed fine until the car refused to turn off today.
Let me explain.
The temp gauge hadn't worked before. Today when I started the car it miraculously did but then when I came to turn the car off it didn't. I turned the key to the off position in the ingnition and pulled it out but the car was still running.
Intermittently the car will turn off fine but on these occasions the temp. gauge doesn't work. Is this a case of a faulty wiring loom I've been reading about or something else. Is there an easy solution? What's the relation between the engine temp. gauge and the ignition. I thought the ignition switch might be faultly but from reading other posts this usually manifests itself on starting the car, which is does fine.
I'm new to Volvo so any help that you guys can offer would be great.
