Anyone out in CO that knows of a good independent shop in this area?? None listed in Brickboard's recommended shops, except in Denver area, which is about 3 hours away. I am leaving Chicago and my beloved Hubbard Woods Motors in a few weeks. I did find a shop thru Yahoo Yellow Pages out in Glenwood Springs called Swedish Car Repair or something like that, and I called 'em up to see what they were all about. I told them I have a '94 960 and it has a small leak in the rear main seal, how much would that cost to get fixed?
The guy first asked, is it an automatic or manual?
Strike one. (There were not any 960s made with a manual transmission, correct?)
I said automatic, and he quoted me $900.
Strike two. My shop here in Chicago, very experienced and trustworthy, charges $500.
It's a very small leak, cannot notice any loss of oil at the 3k intervals I change my oil, so I'll wait til it gets a bit worse b/f I get it fixed.
Any help finding me someone good out in that area would be greatly appreciated.
Thx,
-C
Has anyone had any luck with Auto-Rx actually fixing leaking seals, as its website purports it does?? Anyone with any good or bad experiences with the stuff? I'm at 99k and thinking about giving it a try...not just for the leaking seal, but to clean out any crud that I'm sure has built up over the past 9 years.
