My new wheel bearing race is too darned small. What's up? 200 1989

I just had the front left inside wheel bearing go on my wife's 1989 240 DL sedan.

I drove the old bearing race out, cleaned everything up, and went off to the parts store.

To make a long story short, the bearings the parts store sold me are a hare too small for my wheel. The race fits in the hole but it is loose enough to turn my hand. The one I took out was a tight pressed fit as I would expect.

I tried 3 bearings and 2 manufacturers (Timken and SKF). All see to be too small.

The one I took out was SKF brand made in Germany, part number K-L68111/CL3. The parts I purchased all had the 68111 number on them so I dont think the parts people are in error.

Anyone ever have this problem? Is it OK to use it with the race fitting so loosley? Is is safe to use locktite or some other way to tighten it up? Please advise. Thank you.

It's always something.
