I would like to be 100% sure if the AMM on my 1986 240 is in fact the problem before I spend the money to replace it, and would love some insight.
My brick has been experienced a rough or "hunting" idle that I have been troubleshooting for the past few days. I have inspected the vacuum hoses, and cleaned the throttle body. As a last resort I unplugged the AMM while the car was "hunting" and it finally began to maintain a constant idle.
So before I throw down 200+ dollars, I was wondering if there was any possibility something like the air filter box etc. could cause the AMM to foul up temporarily or am I screwed?
