Well, for some reason anytime I do a search with the letters "AC" in it, there is an error.

Anyway, I would like to know if someone knows of a good website or book or something that can teach me how the different components of the AC in my car work... Ultimatly, I'd like to be able to figure out what's wrong with my AC my self and fix it. It has been inactive since at LEAST '89 or '88, probably longer.

Sooner or later, I am going to have to replace the power steering rack (I think). I figure that would be a good time to swap out a compressor if I need to.

I can not get a "CLACK" from the compressor no matter what I try. I've looked at the expantion drier for the wires to short that would force a clack, but I didn't find any... Here's a picture of it.



It's right next to the radiator.

Also, I've looked in that little black round "window" on the thing, but to me it just looks like a plastic cap: I just see black plastic.
