Gas Tank Service

I have an 1800 that sat for many years and in the course of driving has become quite clogged with crap, plus it is leaking. I went to a shop to see about them fixing this thing but they said they couldn't do a good job because they cannot get around to all of the tank because of the different chambers. How have you guys taken care of this problem in the past?
