Hello -

I've often read brickboard, but have not yet written in with a specific question or problem. I drive an '84 245, dubbed "Freyja". Today on the way to work, I'd be cruising along (this happened in 3rd, 4th and OD) and all the sudden the engine would kind of "cough" - there was a small noise. The Tach dropped right down towards zero for a second, then shot back up into the normal range. There was a corresponding loss of power (again just for a second). Almost as though the shut off then came right back. Overall, this happened about 5 times in a 40 min drive. Nothing else seemed weird (except putting the car into 3rd - it's a bit sticky going into third.)

I'm thinking this might be a clutch issue, but that's only a guess.

Any thoughts on what this could be?
