I have just finished replacing the copper brake lines and the brake hoses on my 87 245.

A couple of questions:

I replaced the rear hoses and bled the rear lines a week ago.

When setting up for this job, I set the rear of the car lower than the front.

Since I am bleeding the fronts, and the rear is "downhill" , do I have to bleed the rear lines again??


Also - a tip.
Since I did not want to strip out the master cylinder o-rings, due to pumping too far, when bleeding (been there, done that, bought the rebuilt)

I came up with a solution.

I vicegripped a 4" piece of flat bar to the side of the brake pedal lever, extending forward toward the firewall, and set it just shy of where teh pedal usually bottoms out.

This way, when someone is pumping the pedal, they cannot go too far.
Worked like a charm last week.
