Oil light 1800

What does the oil light in the oil gauge on my 1973 1800ES mean. After I changed my oil it started to come on at idle. My oil level is not low, but not too high and the oil pressure seems to only be dropping to 50 psi and idle. Why is it comeing on and what can i do?
