This weekend I disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and reassembled my steering gearbox. All bearings/bushings/shafts in excellent condition. Assembled the steering wheel shaft (with shims & bearings) back into the box dry to check for endplay-no slop & very smooth operation. Took apart again, lubed the bearings, sprayed the shims/endcap with copper coat, replaced the horn wire, & buttoned it all back up. A couple questions please....
Is 90 wt gear lube the right stuff?
Is there a measured quantity required or do I just fill it up?
Also, I would appreciate any tips/techniques for setting the pitman arm shaft adjustment. I noticed the adjustment could be set so that the steering would bind somewhat in the center of it's travel but would become looser at the limits. I guess it should be adjusted so there is no slop in the middle of the travel with a minimal amount of binding. Your inputs appreciated.
Thanks!

P.S. Anybody have a spare nut that holds the Pitman arm onto the gearbox output shaft? DPO had tried to fit a nut with the wrong pitch-took a 27" breaker bar to remove!
