940 Knock Sensor Problems 900 1993

PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a '93 940 (non-turbo) which is plagued with the Knock Sensor error code 1-4-3.

I have spent LOTS of money and have not solved the problem. Any advise would be appreciated.

I have done the following:
- Replaced Knock Sensor with New Bosch unit
- Paid Volvo mechanic to Ohm wiring from Sensor to ECM (no problem found)
- Paid Volvo mechanic to replace (he says) the ECM (did not correct problem)

I am at a total loss!!! The car has sluggish power BUT gets 30 MPG. Go figure!!! It will also hesitate and almost die out when accelerating after sitting at a red light or stop sign for 30-45 seconds.

The mechanic says that he is stumped and appears to be "swapping parts".

Any advice?????
