Difficult warm starting 240 DL wagon 200 1989

I recently purchased a 1989 240 DL wagon, and I'm thrilled to be a Volvo owner. However, I have a bit of a problem. When the car is warm, it sometimes takes two or three tries to start the engine. The electrical system seems fine, as it turns over strong. I'm wondering if it could be a problem with the fuel pump or filter, or maybe something else? Any help would be appreciated.
