'81 240 how do I change the a/c compressor belt 200

OK, I just bought an 81 240 with a b21f engine, I'm usually a pretty competent mechanic, but I can't figure out how to remove the compressor belt so that I can change the alternator belt. It seems to be mounted on a fixed point and so are the wheels at either end. Do I remove the compressor wheel? and if how how do you keep it from just turning along with the wrench.
