temperature sensor hole in Nissens radiator 900 1992

I'm in the middle of installing a Nissens radiator in my 92 940 GL (upper hose fitting broke off on the old one). On the old radiator, the temp sensor was held in place from by a brass nut located within the plastic tank. I was able to remove the nut from the old radiator by prying back the tabs and removing the tank.

But I can't figure out how to attach the temp sensor to the new radiator. There's just a hole for the sensor with no nut behind it so I don't see what would hold it in place. Any ideas?
