different hubs 200

Was replacing a wonky wheel bearing the other day and was surprised to find there are two kinds of hub on the car (1982 GLT). One has the big castellated nut and the other has a small one with washer that fits into a groove in the hub. Luckily, I needed an outer bearing which are the same size for both, but the inner bearings are a differnet size. Which is the older style? I believe the cut-off is 1980. The hub without the groove machined into it has Timken bearings and the other had SKF (if memory serves)

thanks all
