Catalytic Converter 700 1990

I have a 1990 Volvo 740 which needs a Cat. I`ve been looking online and have found some good prices. The problem is (for me anyway) that there`s too many options that I`m not familiar with. Like, with or without EGR. What`s EGR? And with or without Sen.Hole. What`s that? I`ve looked in the manual to see if there was some definate specs on this, but was unsucessful. Can someone please help?
