flame trap conversion 200 1985

Thanks to all of the members and the posts in the past. I went to the yard yesterday and picked up the newer flame trap and flame trap hoses from '88 and newer 240s. I succesfully relocated my flame trap for easier access on top of the intake manifold for my '85 244. It took about 30 to 40 minutes to clean all the hoses found from junkyard, (which looked new, but aren't) cutting and retrofitting. The hoses and trap cost me about $5. I've heard of the vacuume test w/ the oil filler cap. Even though it seem difficult to test w/ the newer oil cap, I DID feel more vacuume than before retrofitting the relocated trap. Now cleaning the trap will be enjoyable instead of a dreaded maintainence subject. I would recommend this. Thanks again, and as always for the help.
