Hello to you Volvo gurus

I recently acquired a cruise control unit from an 85 240, which I have fitted to my 1980 262C (later style dash fitted)

I think I have wired it up right (followed diagrams in service bulletin TP 30318/2) but it doesn't work.

Does anyone know what goes wrong with these things, or have any info on testing them?
